Electric Vehicles (EVs) are transforming the way we think about transport. At Stored Solar, we’re passionate about helping Australians switch to greener transport with easy and affordable EV charging solutions.
We make the transition to EV charging simple and stress-free. If you’re a homeowner looking for a simple home charging station or a business keen to provide cutting-edge facilities, we’re here to make it happen.
An EV runs on electricity instead of petrol, diesel, or LPG. This means no gears or oil changes and less maintenance overall—all while delivering a similar or better performance to traditional vehicles.
There are three main types of EVs:
BEV and PHEVs require charging, much like you would charge your phone or laptop – so having an EV charger is a must-have to keep your vehicle powered up and ready to go.
EV chargers pull an electrical current from your home or workplace power supply and deliver it directly to your vehicle’s battery. Charging can be done at various locations, including your home, workplace, shopping centres, car parks, or specialised charging stations.
If you have solar panels, you can use your own free, clean energy to charge your EV and save money.
Solar energy systems come in two main types, each with different uses:
EVs produce fewer emissions than traditional cars, even if powered by a coal-based electricity grid. If you charge using solar, emissions drop even further, helping you lead a more eco-friendly lifestyle.
Electricity is more affordable than petrol, so you’ll save money every time you charge your EV. And with fewer parts to maintain, servicing costs are lower, too.
No oil, spark plugs, or engine filters mean less waste over your vehicle’s life. While EV batteries eventually need replacing, they often last longer than the average vehicle ownership period and can be reused or recycled.
EVs emit no exhaust fumes and produce less brake dust, improving air quality. They’re also much quieter, reducing noise pollution in cities and neighbourhoods and creating a more enjoyable driving experience.
These plug into a standard power point. While slower, they come included with most new EVs and are perfect for occasional use.
Installed at home or work, these wall-mounted chargers are fast and convenient. They can provide a full charge overnight or during the day.
PV systems allow you to generate electricity for both air conditioning and other household needs, giving you better value and more savings.
Single phase AC wall chargers can deliver up to 7kW of charging power and are suitable for most properties
Three phase AC chargers deliver up to 22kW of charging power and are only available for properties with a three-phase supply. If a property doesn’t have a three-phase supply, we can install one.
DC fast chargers work like petrol pumps, offering rapid charging with around 100 km of range in just 20 minutes. We offer chargers with rates from 30kW to 300kW, typically for commercial buildings. We’ll check if your home’s electrical setup is ready for it. With the latest tech, home DC charging up to 30kW is now possible, but we’ll need to do a quick review to make sure it’s all set.
We’re proud of our work. Our electricians are highly skilled and committed to delivering exceptional results every time.
You’re our top priority. We take the time to understand your needs, recommending the best solutions for your lifestyle or business.
We think ahead. We only use the most modern, high-quality equipment so you can have EV solutions that will perform for years to come.
Based in the ACT, we provide detailed site assessments to customise your charging solution to your exact needs.
From installation to maintenance, we’re here to help you every step of the way.
With the new electrical standard AS/NZS 4777.1:2024, Vehicle to Grid (V2G) technology is now permitted in Australia. However, only a few cars and charging systems can do this now.
We recommend using your car’s battery to help the grid during high-demand periods, but only if you can be reimbursed a significant amount for the energy you send back—not just your regular export tariff rate. While V2G can be useful in this case, it won’t replace a proper home battery for storing solar energy, which ensures you have reliable power when you need it most.
Most EVs come with a portable 10A charger that can be used with a standard power point. However, we recommend installing a dedicated wall-mounted charger for faster, safer, and more convenient charging.
Modern EVs can often match the range of petrol cars, while older or second-hand models may have a shorter range. With the growing number of charging stations, long-distance travel is becoming easier.
Most EV batteries last over 10 years. When it’s time to replace them, the batteries can often be repurposed or recycled, and most materials can be reused.
EVs cost more upfront but have lower running costs thanks to cheaper electricity and reduced maintenance. Over time, these savings can add up, making EVs cost-effective for many drivers.
Our chargers come with an app that lets you schedule your charging times. This is great for syncing with cheaper electricity rates if you’re on a ‘time-of-use’ plan.
We also offer a smart EVC solution that integrates with your solar system. This way, your EV can make the most of any extra solar power that would otherwise go back to the grid—helping you save even more.
We pride ourselves on building long-term relationships based on trust, care, and quality. But don’t take our word for it—here’s what our clients have to say.
