What is a solar battery?

The storage capacity depends on the size and type of battery you choose. We offer a range of high-quality batteries and help you pick one that suits your energy usage.
Our solar batteries are guaranteed to retain at least 70% of their usable capacity after 10 years of operation. While the battery will continue to work beyond this time, its capacity may decrease slightly from when it was first installed.
Our batteries are virtually maintenance-free. Just keep the system free of obstructions, like plants. We’ll also check the connections every few years as part of a full solar system health check to make sure everything is running as it should.
If your battery runs out of stored energy, your home or business will automatically draw power from the grid. This ensures you’ll always have electricity when you need it.
With the new electrical standard AS/NZS 4777.1:2024, Vehicle to Grid (V2G) technology is now permitted in Australia. However, only a few cars and charging systems can do this now.
We recommend using your car’s battery to help the grid during high-demand periods, but only if you can be reimbursed a significant amount for the energy you send back—not just your regular export tariff rate. While V2G can be useful in this case, it won’t replace a proper home battery for storing solar energy, which ensures you have reliable power when you need it most.
